Fire can lead to heavy loss, both personally and financially. You must keep yourself aware of what to do when you met with fire in your office or at home. Escaping the situation of fire is really a breathtaking experience, only your knowledge can help you in bringing you alive. Some tips that can help in fighting those dreadful situations are:
- Stay calm and think for a while.
- Every fire starts from small, if you feel that you would not be able to control that, raise the fire alarm. Don't take it lightly as it can turn out something very dangerous so do your job and inform everyone.
- In case your clothes catch fire, lie down on the floor and wrap a blanket until the fire is extinguished.
- If you face the situation of fire in your office look around for fire extinguishers and try to save yourself and your colleague's life.
- During fire, rooms get filled with smoke. Don't remain in that room for long and crawl outside.
- If possible, switch off all electric appliances such as a fan, cooler, lights, etc. to ease the situation. In case these appliances catch fire, the situation will become worse.
- Try to exit safely from the room that has caught fire. Before opening the door check if it has become warm. If it has become hot, it gives you a sign that the other side of the door has also met with fire. Find a different exit.
