Don't install unwanted tool bars and applications:
While you install or update certain applications, there might be a toolbar that will be installed by default. Make sure that while installing or updating any application, you deselect the toolbar option. As these toolbar slow down your system make sure you don't let them intsalled.        

Uninstall programs running in the background:
As soon as your computer boots, there are some programs that start automatically in the background. These programs interrupts with the system's functions that slows down its speed. Make sure that you uninstall or deselect the applications that you don't require while working. 

Delete browsing history: Regularly delete the browsing history as it slows down your browser. Check your system RAM and upgrade it to as much as it allows.
