Laptop needs special care for a long life and as its one of your favorite gadgets, you don't want it to get damaged soon. Most of you work for several hours on the laptop without considering its harmful effects. Have you ever imagined that your laptop also needs some care and attention just like a human body that after long hours of operation, it heats up. If you follow some simple ways to take care of your laptop, it would cost much less on maintenance and ensure a long life. Here are some simple ways to keep your laptop in its best health:

  • While working on your laptop, make sure you don't eat and drink. The small solid food particles and liquids once fall on your laptop accidentally may damage the internal components or circuitry. Liquids, especially pose more threat to laptop as it runs inside the internal parts very easily. Drinking coffee, tea, cold drink, and other beverages, thus could lead to severe damages that can corrupt data or even permanently destroy parts.
  • Laptop screen is the most sensitive part that should be taken care gently. As laptop displays are quite expensive so make sure that you use it well. Do not touch the screen with fingers and clean it with a cotton or suggested things. While close the lid, hold the screen gently from both sides.
  • Always maintain the temperature of your laptop as long hours of work may lead to overheating. Install a laptop cooler or chill mat to maintain the required temperature.  
  • Battery is the most essential part of a laptop as the life of a laptop depends on its battery. For a long battery life, do not always run your laptop on a charging mode. At least once a week unplug it from the wall socket and let it run on battery power.  It will improve the battery life.    
  • Do not overuse your laptop. Shut down when you're finished with all your work. Excess use can lead to overheating. Install software that automatically put your laptop in hibernate more or even shut it down after few minutes of inactivity.
  • Install antivirus and firewall software to protect your laptop from the attack of malicious programs or software while working online. Update them regularly for keeping your laptop safe from all online threats.
  • While closing the lid, make sure that the space between the screen and the keyboard is empty, and you have not inserted put anything in between, not even a paper, as it can harm the LED.  
  • While going out, keep your laptop in a carrying bag to reduce the risk of breaks because of laptop being bumped to or dropped accidentally.
  • Clean your laptop regularly as dust, debris and other impurities got stuck on its part such as fan, screen, USB ports, etc. For good functioning of the laptop, regular cleaning is advised.   


These simple ways will help you in keeping your laptop in its best health, and you save a lot.
