Say No to Firecrackers this Diwali

Diwali-the festival of lights has its own significance, and people start preparing for it even months before. The auspicious festival of Diwali has many rituals associated with it. Some celebrate this great festival by exchanging sweets, gifts while others like bursting crackers. There has been a notable increase in the use of firecrackers, specially on Diwali from past few years. Not even children but young generation and older people are also supporting this activity. For many of them, it’s a way of enjoying while for others it’s the best way to showcase one`s wealth. Reasons are different, but everyone is ultimately supporting noise and many other forms of pollution by bursting crackers. We can certainly reduce it to a large level by promising ourselves that we will celebrate this Diwali in an eco-friendly manner.

Fire crackers affect our environment as they create noise and air pollution. Other than that they work as torture for animals, and they feel threatened while you enjoy them. The smoke that emerges out of these crackers also contributes to asthmatic and allergic diseases. They are dangerous as well as many of the time crackers lead to serious accidents that pose a threat to our safety.  All of us are educated, and we know the harmful effects of crackers, still we use them to enjoy our day.

Above all firecrackers costs a bomb. They are quite expensive, and you need to pay huge amounts to buy them. We should make the better use of our money by not investing in crackers. If you really want to use firecrackers, you should use environment-friendly crackers that lead to reduced noise and air pollution. These crackers are smokeless, and many educated people are opting them to celebrate this Diwali in a unique way. Government has been putting his best efforts to educate people, specially school children to avoid using crackers. Various programs have been conducted to spread the message on a wide scale.

Keeping in view safety measures and environmental threats we should come forward on reducing the use of crackers this Diwali and utilize our education to the fullest. Spend your money wisely to keep the environment green and pollution free. Don`t contribute to smoke, make your Diwali special with sweets and other gifts. Take a resolution on this Diwali of not bursting fire crackers and safeguarding our environment from smoke and noise pollution.

Wish you all a very happy and safe Diwali. Enjoy!!!
