At the onset of summer our skin looks dull due to the deposition of dead skin cells, which we neglect to slough off during winter months. Experts say the best way to get your skin glowing for summer is with regular exfoliation that deep cleanses grime and makeup from your face. They can clog pores or get mixed with grease and sweat on your face to give rise to acne.
As first exfoliating treatment of the season, get a chemical or physical exfoliation done by a professional to reveal the fresh, new skin underneath all that dead skin cells. Post that maintain the skin with twice a week scrubbing with a gentle face scrub.
Make sure to take off your makeup with a makeup remover and wash off afterwards with a foaming cleanser or a soap-free face wash. To brighten your skin use a fruit-based face mask with alpha-hydroxy acid, or a skin brightening mask. In case your skin feels dehydrated or sun burnt, use cold milk as a mask. To minimise excess sebum secretion, apply a thin mixture of red sandalwood powder and rosewater thrice a week over your face.
