Exercise from where you areYou are working all day at the desk and your hands and body are craving for rest. Your hands are tired from working on the keyboard and your ears from the pressure of the earphones. You need to relax. What do you do? Sit at your desk and exercise for a few minutes.

  • Move your head from the right to the left side, bringing your neck as close to the ear as possible. This will relax your neck.
  • Now stretch the shoulders. Bring your right arm horizontally over the chest. Place it just above the elbow joint. Bring the right arm closer towards the chest. Do the same now with the left arm.
  • Stretch your chest muscles by clasping your hands behind you.
  • Stretch the upper back by clasping your hands in front of you.
  • Stretch the entire length of your arm by clasping your hands above your head. Bring your palms together as if doing a namaste.
  • Relax those aching shoulders by rotating them forward a few times. Hold the motion for about 20 seconds and breathe normally. Now do this backwards and hold again for another 20 seconds.

Get back to work feeling invigorated!
