Tips1. Delegation is a good way of reducing your own load. But do it in such a way that the employee does not feel that you are 'dumping' additional work on her.

2. So, when you are delegating work, give the employee whole tasks to do so that she understands that she is taking on more responsibility and not just doing work that you would like to shirk.

3. Do not keep questioning every day once the task has been handed over. Identity days of the week/month when you want to have a discussion on the progress of the task.

4. Determine in advance how you will be rewarding the person for the extra help rendered. That is most important.
