Tips1. As a leader, make yourself available to your team. Don't constantly shoo them away with, “I am busy."

2. When your team is talking to you, don't take calls for five minutes, unless it is urgent.

3. Close the door to your cabin, if you have one. This gives the person more confidence to talk to you.

4. Rephrase what you have heard so that the speaker understands that you have listened. This is also a way of checking whether you have heard and understood correctly.
