Acne can drive anyone crazy! But, take heart, there are treatments available today, that can make your acne vanish!
Chemical Peel
It uses a chemical solution to remove the outer, damaged layer of the skin. Chemical agents like Retinoic acid, Phenol or alpha-hydroxy are used to exfoliate the top layer of the skin. The amount of chemical used depends from patient to patient. It is only to improve the texture of the skin and is not an age-defying procedure.
Collagen injections
Collagen provides elasticity to the skin. These injectable fillers reduce acne scars visibly, giving the skin an overall smooth appearance. These injections are given to even out the appearance of pitted skin, making it look plump and smooth.
Excision / Punch Grafting
Deep scars can be excised and then punch grafted for a more even skin tone and appearance. The acne scar is first excised. Punch grafting is used to fill up the defected or scarred area, either sutured or glued into place.
Dermabrasion
A medical cosmetic procedure, by which the top layer of the scarred skin is evened out. A motorized dermabrador is used to scrape off the top layer of the skin. Almost like sandpapering the blemishes away. The procedure may require mild anesthesia and can sometimes be painful. It will take time to heal, and the skin may look red or raw for weeks.
