Fight Fat Self ImageIs it that every time you check yourself in the mirror, you see a women many sizes larger than what you had expected? Then you are suffering from what doctors call the ‘normative discontent’. This is when a woman with regular weight imagines herself as a very fat person. This has become a malady since many women try to emulate the models on the international catwalk and in the magazines.

So next time when you look at the mirror simply-
- Fight Fat Self ImageAvoid self-examination and criticism. Would you say bad things about appearance to your friends or family? No, then stop saying it to yourself. Look at your flaws but don’t berate yourself over it.
- Fight Fat Self Image Stop comparing. Every body has a type decided by your genetic makeup, nationality, creed and the society you are born. Take pride in your own shape. Remember even Kate Moss has bad beauty days!
- Fight Fat Self Image Focus on how your body feels. Take a positive step if you don’t feel right about what you see. Remember that models are mostly undernourished, something that we can’t live with. So make changes in your diet and join yoga classes or take up dancing to feel good about your body.
- Fight Fat Self Image Look at the best side. All of us have at least one great feature in our body. Ask your family and friends to list them as they see it, list your positive qualities as well. Next time when you see yourself in the mirror, say the list out loud to yourself and become aware of those features.
