Types of stroke are very important in order to treat the patients well. All types of strokes are a kind of cardiovascular disease. Stokes affect the arteries through which the blood travels to and fro from the brain. There are two types of strokes in major. The two types of strokes are differentiated by the cause that causes the obstruction in the flow. The obstruction are caused either by the clots or bursting of the blood vessels. With the brain not getting the fresh supply of blood, it begins to falter in functions and die. It happens more so as blood supplies oxygen in the brain. The types of strokes are ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke.

Ischemic stroke happens when the blood vessels are clogged and a stroke is called hemorrhagic stroke when the vessels carrying blood have raptures causing the blood to leak inside the brain. These two are the major types of strokes that affect maximum number of people. The ischemic stroke causes less harm than the other type. There is more possibility of harm being caused by hemorrhagic stroke as it is more serious than ischemic stroke.

Ischemic strokes are a result of an obstruction in the blood vessels that supply blood from the heart to the brain. Fatty deposits inside the lining the blood vessel walls causes the kind of obstruction that gives rise to ischemic strokes. This phenomenon is known in medical terms as atherosclerosis. The fatty deposits can cause further complications of the ischemic strokes. The complications can further lead to more serious type of strokes. Hemorrhagic strokes are less rampant in people but have more serious consequences compared to ischemic strokes. Hemorrhagic stroke are caused by a weakened blood vessels that ruptures inside the brain and bleeds inside it. The accumulation of blood in the brain compresses the brain tissues around it. There are further classifications of the hemorrhagic strokes.

This type of strokes are caused by the ruptures of two types of blood vessels. Aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are the two blood vessels that cause hemorrhagic strokes. The effects of stroke are like multiple organ failures. The side of the brain that is most affected causes all the defects or complications. The functions performed by the right side of the brain are affected if the stroke has occurred on the right side and same with the left side of the brain. Similarly if the back of the brain is affected, the effect is on those particular functions. In some cases there are paralysis of only one side of the body that suggests which section of the brain is affected. It is essential to determine the type of strokes.

With correct diagnosis and treatment the effects of strokes that are permanent disability can be avoided. There are medical and physical methods of diagnosis of heart diseases. With care and proper treatments, the disease can be kept under check. There are many precautions that should be followed when one has been diagnosed with heart ailments. The precautions are required for the heart to stay healthy and not develop complications.
