Surgical excision:

Mohs micrographic surgery:
This method removes the clinically apparent tumor and a thin rim of normal appearing skin around the defect created. This method examines almost all the tissue margins compared with the standard vertical sectioning in which lees 1 percent of the outer margins are examined. Its increased expense and time requirement are the main drawback of this method.
Radiation therapy:
Radiation therapy is suitable as primary treatment for a variety of basal cell carcinoma
Cryotherapy:
It is an effective treatment for most of the non-aggressive basal cell carcinomas. It has a cure rate of 90 percent.
