People who have already had any form of skin cancer should be extra cautious about basal cell carcinoma because they could be more prone to this disease. And to add with that, if they need to go and remain under the sun regularly, it is highly advisable to them to consult physician regularly and get checked by the physician for any possible threat of basal cell carcinoma. Besides, the surveillance and visiting to physician, for Prevention of Basal Cell Carcinoma, the most important thing is to avoid sun. Limit your recreational sun exposure. Don't go under the sun unless you must have to go for some specific and extremely important purpose. Avoid to be under the sun when it is in its high, i.e, avoid going under the sun between 10 am to 2 pm.
Even if you have to go, always protect your skin from the sunlight and take special care that your skin doesn't get too much exposed to direct sunlight. While you are going out under the sun, always wear brad brimmed hats and tightly woven protective clothing. These would restrict the sunlight to come in contact with your skin.
Ultraviolet rays from the sun are very injurious for you skin and can cause basal cell carcinoma. To cope with this, while under the sun, always use waterproof or water resistant sunscreen with UVA protection and SPF number of 30 or higher. This would protect your skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun and eventually bring down the risk of basal cell carcinoma.
