UN official has said that by hosting the Olympic Games, the Chinese have helped in developing their own country. The last four years have been a period of tremendous growth for the country, as the people and the nation got together towards making the cities of China world-class cities so that they could have world class Olympics. The people have also become aware of environmental problems that they have in the country and are making efforts to protect it. The concept of the Green Olympics will make the Chinese move towards a green China, as is indicated in the move of the government to make the Olympic zones as smoke-free as possible. The Games also seem to have promoted gender equality where women have shown remarkable determination and skills in winning credit for their country and for themselves.
