Till a few years ago, you had to send in a hand-written resume to the company where you wanted a job. Then it became easier and you could send in the resume using the internet - well formatted, documented and hassle free. You didn't have to wonder whether the company got it. Now, we have the voice resumes. Companies that do large scale hiring like the IT sector, banking, financial and insurance sectors are heaving a sigh of relief because they will be able to listen to these resumes without inviting hordes of prospective employees on a particular day and a particular time.

Voice Resume

Once a person applies to a certain company, they get a mail from the company asking them to ring up a particular number. The candidate has to then interact with an interactive voice response and answer certain questions. The call concludes with the candidate reading out a passage provided. Men and women from HR are heaving a huge sigh of relief because they are tired to the countless candidates that come with little or no communication skills. They would rather weed these out right in the beginning. Candidates better start working on their soft skills and communication skills because they cannot charm their way into the job with a handsome or beautiful face!
