The newspaper, magazine and the television has the bouncy, beaming faces of little girls endorsing products and ideas. They become role models for other children and a piggy bank for the family. The exposure makes them confident and ready to take on the world, but is there something lost in the process? The early exposure to the big, bad world makes them shed their innocence far too early so that they step into adulthood even before they are in their teens.

Worrying

Psychologists say that the trend is disturbing because these tweens are so full of themselves that they constantly want to be in the limelight and almost fast-forward their lives even before they outgrow babyhood. Girls as young as six want to become slimmer; girls at the age of ten want to look sexy and be like Hannah Montana. By being a model on television, working with actors on the big screen or even appearing on the dance shows on TV, they have already become adults with the mind and feelings of a child. The pressures on them are too many and manifold, but unfortunately parents are too busy signing contracts and basking in the glory to notice or even want to notice.
