We are the World...

Old Mothers

Women and Anger

Music and Cholesterol
Working women do not want a ban on night shifts in spite of evidence that cities are not safe for the lone woman travelling at night or the fact that even the metros are really not equipped enough to provide safety to women who return home from night shifts. Women feel that if they opt out of the night shifts, then they will be losing out on a lot of opportunities to climb up the ladder. Women working in Bangalore (the IT and BPO hub!) feel the most insecure! This is followed by Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Pune. Women in Mumbai and Delhi seem to feel more secure!
Training Required
Chairperson of the National Commission of Women, Girija Vyas, says that companies must be trained to give this security and women too must be trained to make full use of this security. What it means that there should be no flouting of rules on either side and rules are taken seriously.
