The medals are already flowing in for the women participants. Katrina Emmons from the Czech Republic has won the first gold medal of the Olympic Games. She has set an Olympic record of 503. Supported by husband, American shooter Matthew Emmons, Katrina feels naturally elated, although the intensity of the tension gave her a throbbing headache in the morning. But as they say, it is good to have some anxiety to perform well. She sympathsied with China's Du Li, who was under tremendous pressure from the people at home and the media; she subsequently fired a terrible shot. The secret of success is to feel pressurised from within rather than from without. That is the clear message.
