Santa Claus is coming to Town

St. Nicholas was a bishop from the fourth century AD. It was he who inspired the Santa Claus myth. He is called Father Christmas in the UK and Europe and is said to live in Lapland. The Americans say that Santa lives in the North Pole and goes around saying Ho, Ho, Ho. The Santa Claus village was set up in 1992 in Finland and children along with parents from all over the world visit Santa and his elves every year.

Santa Post Office

The Santa Post office sells Christmas goodies and CDs and the money is used to send gifts to children who have been good throughout the year. Many people perceive the new trend as a business enterprise. Parents used to tell children that there was no one like Santa Claus. But today, seeing that children love the idea of someone watching over them, parents are game for this. It also does another good thing¯children dare not be disobedient!
