Learn to Say No

This advice is not for teens but for the parents of teens who are constantly giving to the commands of teenagers, either because they do not know how to say no or because they do not have the time to evade the nagging of their children. A survey conducted shows that in spite of repeated refusals, parents ultimately succumb to the pressure of pleasing their teen. When parents are tired and stressed out, they tend to give in easily.

Damaging Lesson

Psychologists say that the constant caving in by parents does not do any good for the teen. They grow up to believe that they are entitled to anything that they crave for. Instead parents should sit down with the teen and explain why it is not good for them and then get on with their lives, instead of feeling repentant. By cutting down on television time, parents will find that teens are less exposed to the advertisements that make the teen crave for the product advertised. Experts insist that the art of bringing up teenagers is to get them to understand that a no remains a no.
