Casual Talk, Casual Manners

Most teens feel that the order of the day is to be formal and very casual. Not so, says the working environment. The corporate world today feels that it is absolutely essential for people to focus more on soft skills than hard skills! Employers, especially those in the MNCs, feel that today there is very little focus on right communication although teens think they are communicating all the time! Managers are compelled to check every mail that is sent out by young men and women because of the casual tone which makes clients fume!

Of the 34,000 Indian graduates whose English was tested, it was found that only 8% spoke grammatically correct English and only 22% had adequate written skills. What youngsters have to understand is that business development takes place only through communication and therefore it is necessary to set the right tone for business communication and this is something that one has to learn seriously.
