Old Mothers

Women and Anger

Music and Cholesterol
With eve teasing on the rise and violent husbands or partners to handle, more women are now attending self defence classes so that they can take care of themselves instead of rushing to people for help. Women who attend these classes either voice why they are in class or communicate to their trainer in the form of notes so that the trainer understands what kind of skills have to be imparted to them. There are classes exclusively for women (some of them on Saturday nights). Many of these women have been frank in saying that the person they want to protect themselves from is the husband.
Outside Help
These women feel that if they are abused by a third party, people may rush to their help. But if the abuser is the husband, then people hesitate to help out. There is a programme called Give It To Them (how apt!) where women who face domestic violence also call the organisation for help. Some of these women are already separated from their husbands; however, they still feel that they have to protect themselves and their children from their spouses.
