The Save Indian Family Foundation decries the recent ads where scenes of domestic violence on men are portrayed in what the advertisers call a ‘humourous fashion’. World research has now shown that acts of domestic violence are not really gender specific and both the genders are subject to it in a different way. In India, 56,000 married men commit suicide owing to various reasons.
Decries Women
The Foundation strongly feels that if women are really supporters of gender equality, they will also protest against advertisements that promote female brutality because in their eyes there should be no domestic violence at all, neither against men nor women. The NGO foundation strongly believes that the women’s movement, which is in the eye of the public all the time, should rise to the occasion and campaign against such media because it does not favour the modern woman either. Will someone really protest against the advertisement or will it only be quietly removed before it creates a bigger storm?
