An interesting find suggests that fathers who spend more time with their toddlers are likely to raise the intelligence of their children. Such children not only have a higher IQ, but also attain a better social status. Research also shows that although fathers dote on their little girls, they actually tend to spend more time with their little boys. Such fathers take an active interest in the child by reading to the child, playing or even just cuddling up to the child.

Hands on Experience

Experts also say that when a child is old enough to understand, he may be trained to do things for himself. If a toy is out of reach, and the parent uses the cane to retrieve the toy from under the bed, the cane may be given to the child to retrieve it himself, because such hands on experience will help him attain his goals better! Having done the study, researchers are even more firm in their belief, that a single parent cannot do justice to the job of raising a child!
