It's not uncommon to hear small children using foul language with their friends even as they are playing a game on the playground. They are so accustomed to the words that they are unmindful that elderly people are within earshot. It is very obvious that children hear these words used on television and sometimes by the parents and therefore they repeat them. If parents are appalled, then they have to make a conscientious effort of erasing these words from their own vocabulary list.
School Responsibility
Schools say that children should be nurtured holistically but they sometimes have no qualms in calling a child stupid or even an idiot. People who are instrumental in nurturing children sometimes indulge in these meaningless acts because of some kind of frustration. When will adults become role models for children then?
