The fashion Gurus of China have felt that the people of the country should be impeccably dressed and have therefore brought out a 36-page booklet (it covers 9 web pages) which outlines exactly how the Chinese should dress and behave during the Olympics. It gives tips on how to comb one's hair and also how women with thick ankles can disguise them by wearing dark stockings, rather than white or light coloured ones! Women are also advised to wear more colourful clothes and to be more sporting about the length of their dresses. Men on the other hand, are advised not to wear pajamas in public, not to roll up their trouser legs and to don on a shirt in public. Taxi drivers have been told to cut down on the consumption of garlic so that their breath does not stink! The Chinese are using the Olympics as an opportunity to educate their people on behaviour (like not spitting on the road) and soft skills (like not fighting over the settlement of a bill in a restaurant). With the world's eyes glued on China, the efforts are understandable.
