Taking the cue from cars, watches and clothes, the mobile industry too is going green in its effort to save the environment and please customers! Samsung has announced two such handsets, which is made from bio plastic and also a natural material from corn! The phone does not have any trace of heavy metals and the accessories that come with the cell are also green! Taking the cue from Samsung, Nokia too is planning to launch 40 new phones that are made from totally recyclable elements. These companies feel that in order to retain customers and preserve the environment, such innovative methods have to be adopted.
Miniature PhonesCompanies that are still using metals are resorting to producing miniature phones so that the amount of metals is reduced. The phones have smaller batteries and smaller accessories and also need less packing material. In markets like the US, where the customer too takes the environment more seriously, Nokia has come up with a novel idea that of giving customers a pre-paid and pre-addressed envelope into which they put in the products that they want to return so that the company does the safe recycling.
