Not many are aware that last week was mental health week and even fewer are aware that the Internet is viewed as a major public hazard in countries like Japan, the US and the UK. However, internet assisted suicide sites cannot be ignored even in India because there is a lot written about painless ways of committing suicide. Mental health experts are of the opinion that there is no need to panic about the situation because the majority of the population in India does not have access to the internet!

Depressed Minds

Many bloggers mindlessly list out every step they will take to commit the final mindless act. As teenagers, some may be fascinated enough to follow the instructions; some may be going through such bouts of depression that it triggers off ideas. Children who are depressed, who are bullied either at home or at school are vulnerable to such sites. Keeping the computer in the hallway so that parents monitor the sites that children visit, and also spending time with children and being able to talk to them are some of the things that parents should be doing.
