The University of Maryland conducted a research on the kind of people who spend time watching television and concluded that unhappy people are more likely to watch television. Happy people on the other hand, would rather spend their time socialising or reading. Television viewers are no doubt happy watching their favourite serial or programme but it is only a state of temporary happiness. For some, it is an escape from the pressures of the outside world or even the family!

Increase in TV Viewing

Television viewing is likely to increase in the present economic scenario as more jobless people stay at home. Television addicts opt for the idiot box because they need not spend any extra energy or effort in watching it. They dont have to go anywhere outside of the house, do not have to dress up and neither do they have to plan. Moreover, they can change channels with the flick of a button. It is not so easy to tune people in and out! If you want your children to be more social, cut down on TV time!
