Scientists have always wondered why women go through a menopause stage, whereas other species continue to reproduce throughout their lives. Researchers on fertility have now come to understand that menopause is also on account of the responsibility that women have towards their children and plausibly the daughter-in-law. If women were to continue bearing children throughout their lives, then grandmothers would not be in a position to look after their grandchildren as they have been doing from time immemorial!

Social Responsibility

Perhaps this is an easier way that nature has found for the younger generation to be taken care of. Whatever the reason, scientists feel that the new study may cast light on the issues of low fertility and other such related problems. Just goes to show that nature too is absolutely sure that women are the caregivers rather than men! Do researchers sometimes come up with these conclusions to make women feel even more socially responsible towards the family?
