Corporation schools and government schools may soon have German introduced into their curriculum. German will become a part of the syllabus right from class 6 to class 12 and this will probably be from 2009. The Goethe Institute is throwing open this opportunity to school students so that they can take part in the youth camps that are held every year in Germany.

Tremendous Exposure

Introducing German will do wonders because students will be exposed to another foreign language from a very early age. Those interested in translation and interpretation would be able to get a jump start in their career immediately after college. Students opting to study in Germany would also not face a language problem. It is only hoped that teachers will strive to teach fluency in the language and do not focus on grammar as they do in English.
