Michelle Obama had made it clear right from the start of the elections that she is a mother first and then a professional working woman. After the successful campaigning and stupendous win of her husband, she still hasn`t changed her mind. With quiet repose, she has announced to the nation that her first step would be to help her daughters get settled in the White House. Michelle Obama has dared to be different from Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. Having worked for years, she knows how difficult it is to be a wife and mother, and how much more difficult being First Lady will be.

Mixed Reactions

There has been no thunderous applause from her gender. Instead, there is a section of fuming women lashing out against the choice because they do not have the luxury of the choice of remaining just a mother and wife. Some people commend her because she has made the hard decision that most parents don`t want to make and that is putting parenthood over career. It`s been a tough decision because it has been a personal decision, a decision that Michelle Obama feels she owes herself and her family. We can probably then expect an honest government because there is going to be transparency.
