The attrition rate in the BPOs was 60% but this year it has dropped to 30%, and in some cases, it is lower than 22%. With more and more day time options opening up, many now see it as a long term career instead of a stop gap. Workers see the job as both lucrative and stable. In the early days of the BPO, it was only freshers that applied; today, experienced people are also looking at the BPO options.

With China and Malaysia threatening to take over business from India, BPO industries have started offering fresh incentives to their employees, and encouraging them to realise their own personal aspirations. A Nasscom-McKinsey report states that the BPO sector will employ about 2.3 million by the year 2010. Outsourcing has been hugely competitive and therefore companies are making sure that their workers are happy
