The White Tiger is Aravind Adiga`s commentary on modern India, its politics, corruption and certainly not the India Shining Image that politicians would like to give it. 33-year-old Adiga is the second youngest write to winner the Pulitzer Prize and the fourth debut novelist; he is also the fifth Indian writer to win the prize of $87,000! Readers say that the book is racy and entertaining but they don`t think much of the language. Either way, the book has sold and now there is no copy left!

Real Image of India

Adiga says that he has painted the real image of India, and not the India Shining Image that politicians love to publicise. The author talks about the extreme inequality in the country, of the corruption and the violence. The idea behind the book is to entertain and the portray India as it is.
