The Sea of Trolls is a work by Nancy Farmer, winner of the Newbery Honor award. Fantasy seems to fascinate the young today and the story is set in the Anglo-Saxon England of 793. The story revolves around a young boy, Jack, and his sister Lucy. The story abounds in murderers, magic, spells, and as the title indicates, trolls. It is also the story of friendship, love and sacrifice and the plot is thick with conspiracy.
Sequels
Following the success of the novel, Nancy Farmer wrote a sequel The Land of the Silver Apples. The second book enlarges on the magical world of the first and takes the children into a terrifying adventure underground. 2009 will see the release of yet another novel The Islands of the Blessed and possibly conclude the adventure of the siblings. Readers testify that once you pick up the book, you just can't put it down!
