Australia has won her first medal (and a gold one at that!) with Stephanie Rice hitting a world record of 4.29.45 in the women's 400 individual medley. With this medal, Australia has got its 400th medal at the Olympics! Rice came out of the pool saying that it had hurt, meaning it was really painful getting that record! She stayed motivated by focussing more on the process rather than the end. Breaking up with Eamon Sullivan had been a professional decision for both the swimmers because they felt that they had to give every ounce of their best for a world class event. The couple (or should we say ex-couple?) can certainly teach the world a lot about professionalism.
