Shikha Sharma was unanimously voted Businesswoman of the year. Her contribution towards making ICICI Prudential the second largest life insurance (after LIC) has been responsible for getting her this prestigious award. Shikha Sharma began her career with ICICI in 1980 and then later got into the insurance business without having a personal policy herself! But she made it to the top because of her firm belief that if one makes an effort, domain knowledge can be easily gathered.

The Businesswoman of the year believes that it is very important to divide time between work and family. She believes in taking off on vacations with her family so that she comes back totally charged to her work environment. She makes it a point to spend time with her family both in the morning and evening and makes sure that she reads at night. Her advice to young women of today is to do things with passion, commitment and empathy and to value family life.
