Introduction to Wedding Reception
Wedding Reception is known to be the ceremony which follows the completion of the main marriage ceremony. This ceremony is existent in almost all the societies worldwide. In the western countries the aspect of reception ceremony after the wedding comprises factors like meals, toasts, dances and the wedding cake. In Indian society the picture of a wedding reception is comparatively different as its mostly the day when people tend to invite either those people who were not invited for the wedding or those people who came for the marriage and just a few friends.
The Custom of Wedding Reception
In most cases the wedding reception is held either the very next day of the marriage or in a gap of one day in India. This factor actually varies from one community to another. The receptions after the wedding ceremonies mostly take place from the grooms side of the family or even the brides side of the family can also contribute in this. This depends highly on the individual families.

Themes for Wedding Reception
Traditionally receptions after weddings used to be a part of the grand ritual of wedding in India. However, presently it has changed its image as receptions have come to be held in grand hotels and most people arrange for lavish parties and dance performances including DJ nights and interesting themes. The factor of dining is mostly taken care of by the wedding planners who arrange either for continental dishes, as wedding receptions in India have currently become a pretty westernized affair.

Influence of Bollywood in Wedding Reception
In case you intend to follow the traditional theme then the reception can be planned to display the ambiance of the same with the décor of the reception venue being planned either like an Indian palace or haveli or the theme can also be of the 70s and 80s era in Bollywood movies. Presently the influence of Bollywood has added to the charm and glamor of wedding ceremonies. In most cases the bride and the groom are attired in designer wears which mostly reflects the dressing pattern of the actor or the actress of the popular movie of the time.

The Aspect of Fusion in Wedding Reception
One can always go for a fusion theme where people mostly appear in gaudy and gorgeous ethnic wears including the bride and the groom while to make it more modernized there are arrangements for DJ nights and dance performances and for most reception dining with a Continental meal is no exception.
