Canberra is not just home to political campaigns, senates and bureaucrats. The city is much more than that. Those who are not aware will know that the town is not at all a sleepy town as perceived by many. It is very energetic and picturesque with ample museums and galleries with small bush lands and gardens embracing a lake or any water body.

It is then not very surprising that the town is also a welcome sign for most love capers as the town renders privacy, serenity and romantic getaways.

The Rydges Eagle Hawk resort in Canberra is one of the best places in Canberra. If you are looking for a chic place to put up for your honeymoon then this is the perfect place.

This inimitable holiday retreat is set within a good 30 acres of native Australian bush land, and is the preferred choice for both business and leisure travelers. With its modern style, superior service and peaceful location, Eagle Hawk is a must- experience. If a hotel is not your idea for a great honeymoon, then you can opt for the more private apartment-style holiday. Parklands Apartment Hotel provides fully self-contained space. With its contemporary, plush design and modern guest facilities, it`s the ultimate choice for all travelers. For a more intimate and home-like experience, there is a full-operational kitchen and lounge areas and excellent furnishings.

If money is a constraint or you would like to save the extra dollars for better food and sightseeing, then stay at any of the good bed & breakfast accommodations.

The Surveyor`s Hill Winery Bed and Breakfast is one such that is really an idyllic getaway for the romantic. There`s ample wine and food in this 1930s vintage style cottage-resort. It is just 20 minutes from Canberra city.

Some of the famous places to visit, while in Canberra are Australian National Botanic Gardens, Australian War Memorial, Canberra Museum and Gallery, National Gallery of Australia. One can get a taste of the Aboriginal history, culture and heritage while visiting these.

The Sundowner Embassy Hotel is another good option. There is a range of rooms to suit everyone and facilities such as high speed internet access, free car parking, 8 FOXTEL channels including Sky News, 2 Conference rooms, Sauna, Guest Laundry, BBQ and Outdoor Swimming Pool etc.

So, enjoy a great honeymoon and you`d definitely want to come back to this amazing city.
