The Columbian city of Santa Marta is a perfect and beautiful place and is recommended by top tourist agencies as one of the best places for a honeymoon. Santa Marta is regarded as an important commercial port and tourist destination of South America. All the streets are perfectly numbered and the beach can be considered "Carrera 1" that stands as 1st St nwhile the first street is usually "Carrera 1A" or 1A St. The next street after the first row of buildings is quite naturally Carrera 2 or 2nd St. Calles are streets running from north to south. In strong contrast to the bigger cities in Colombia, the cabs do not run on a meter and the payments vary with the distance you want to cover. You can also negotiate a price with the cabbie to your next checkpoint if you have sources .
There are lots of activities that you might involve in while you visit this colombian city. There are several nearby coral reefs that all provide the tourists with several good possibilities for diving. On the beaches you would always get to rent a jetski wuich you can ride yourself or just ask for a ride. Another interesting activity includes having a great time with a certain Mr. Donado. He happens to be known as "The King" of Santa Marta. Donado is a very succesful business leader and loves to take visitors out for drinks. You can incessantly shop from all the beach vendors and almost buy anything from them at a good price.
You can indulge in some fine culinary delights like roasted and grilled chicken. you can also try out several varieties of amazing Seafood in a lot of relatively inexpensive shops selling shrimp and seafood cocktails. Several varieties of fruits are also available and you can also taste all types of snacks including pizza, hamburgers, rice in milk with coco, fried stuffed doughy thingshot dogs, French fries, shakes, kabobs, Coffee, hot chocolate and much more.
