Situated very near to the fort are the ruins of the City of King Felipe II of Spain. The city also holds great historical value for the people of Punta Arenas. It is also generally known by the locals as the Port of Hunger. Other major attraction at the city includes the Salesian Museum Maggiorino Borgatello. Here you can see the well preserved specimens of the Magellanean flora and fauna.
