Directed by an Indo-Canadian director Deepa Mehta in the year 2002, Bollywood Hollywood is one of the best Bollywood wedding movies. The movie is full of life where you find a good combination of humor and family-oriented values and customs. Unlike other films of Deepa Mehta Elements Trilogy of Fire, Earth - 1947 and Water which depict social issues and serious themes, Bollywood Hollywood is quite an entertaining one.

Born in the year 1950 in Amritsar in Punjab, Deepa Mehta is one of the popular Indian-Canadian film director and screenwriter. Deepa Mehta did her schooling from Welham Girls High School and completed her graduation from the Delhi University with a degree in philosophy. She completed all these degrees before migrating to Canada in 1973. Deepa Mehta started her career as a screenwriter in the film industry for children`s films.

Though Bollywood Hollywood is an English movie, it has lot of Bollywood-style music and dance performances for the sheer fun and entertainment of the viwers. Starring Rahul Khanna and Lisa Ray as the lead actors, this movie has attained much admiration from the global audience. The film mainly focuses the character of Rahul Seth who is a young and rich Indo-Canadian guy settled in Toronto. Rahul`s widowed mother is always seeking opportunity to convince her son to get married after the accidental death of Kimberly, his Caucasian pop singer girlfriend. Rahul is almost pressurized by all the tensions, as her younger sister Twinky is yet to tie her knots with Bobby. He feels that Twinky should get married because she is expecting a child. So as soon as possible her wedding knots should be tied to keep up the reputation of the family.

Overburdened with all tensions, Rahul goes to booze out in a bar where he comes across Sue, a sweet lady. He thinks her to be a Spanish escort and therefore plans to hire her and places her as his fiancé in front of his mother. Finally Rahul realizes that Sue is an Indian and she is actually Sunita. Somehow as few incidents happened, both Rahul and Sue came close to each other and believed one another to be a perfect match. This finally led to Twinky`s wedding which was ultimately approved by Mrs. Seth. Later on in the long-run Rahul and Sue became more intimate. Sue had few ups and downs in her life and therefore her behavior was quite atrocious towards some people. Rahul`s driver was one among all her disliked people. Rahul`s romance with Sue got disrupted due to few reasons. Rahul was informed about her character by one of his drunken friend at the bachelor`s party thrown by Bobby. Rahul was then forced to confess the truth to his mother who shattered badly, though Twinky`s wedding was all over.

Last but not the least, it was a happy ending when Rahul takes the initiative and proposes to Sue, who then readily agrees to it. Ending on a happy note, Bollywood Hollywood is a total entertaining movie.
