There are a few things you should never tell a girl when you're involved with her - or even thinking of getting involved. What are the things you need to be wary of?

• Never compare her to your ex. Don't spend a date talking about all the fun things you used to do with your earlier girlfriends. Believe me - that kind of thing is enough to put any girl off.

• Don't talk about your past infidelities - unless you want to kiss this relationship good bye. Betrayal is never something a girl can accept with comfort. It always goes down badly in your records. You can't blame your girl for getting overly suspicious of you henceforth. The logic she's reasoning with will be - if he can cheat on her, he can cheat on me.

• Don't deride her career - even if you do think it's an unusual one. It is her life after all - and she has a right to choose. Don't pass any caustic remarks about women and their careers. Remember, it isn't a man's world any more. Women have stormed most of the bastions - and doing pretty well too. You'll only air your ignorance with your snooty attitude.

• Don't tell lies without good reason. Any relationship built up on falsehood isn't likely to go any place at all. Stick to the truth - even when you're trying to impress her. If she is the right girl for you - she'll accept you just as you are.




• Don't tell her that you thought a girl like her could never be your kind. A remark like that is like a two edged sword - it could be read as a compliment or an insult. It's better to play safe.

• Don't tell her that you had a crush on her best friend earlier. It isn't flattering at all- and could lead to a lot of future insecurities - in relation to you and any of her friends.
