Friendship is a bond which is beyond any description. It is a priceless relationship which we make in our lives. We all cherish the beautiful bond of friendship. Friendship is based on trust, love, care, mutual understanding, sympathy and sacrifice. This bond is not based on anything it is a relationship which is unique and strong. Generally we make friends with whom we share similar thoughts and ideas but it is always not like that it is not based on any petty criteria like sex, creed, religion, ideas and background.

We meet many people in our lives and we get acquainted with some, some make a mark in our lives and some don`t. But some remain throughout our lives through our ups and downs. The definition of friendship changes with age. Earlier when you were children according to you this relationship meant playmate with whom you can share your toys and fight and laugh together. As you grow up you change and mature and your requirements change. You pass through different phases of your life but your friend is there throughout to support you, take care of you and have fun with you.

Pen Friends and Internet Friends

We make friends at different stages of life. You can make friends when you are at school. You make friends when you are in college or when you are in office. You can make friends at any new gathering or association. Nowadays as the world has become smaller with means of communication stronger friendship develops over the Internet. Earlier we were more familiar with the concept of pen- friends. Pen friends generally keep in touch through letters. They generally live in different cities, or countries or even continents. But now people have faster modes of communication and use the Internet for friendship.
Friendship over the Internet or through letters can be risky at times as often the real identity of the people is not disclosed. But besides that friendship can be a beautiful bond when developed through these mediums. It is not always necessary to build such relationship with only whom you meet or associate with. You make friends with only those to whom you can open your heart and confide in and share the same wavelength.

Childhood friends are like an extension of you who seem to know what you want to say even when you are not saying anything. They seem to read your mind whenever you are not in the mood. They know you inside out as they have grown up with you and have noted every step and move you take. Sometimes your childhood friends are a better judge of situations as they know you so well.
Sometimes opposite personalities attract each other and we become friends with each other. It is not always necessary that you have to be friends with people who share the same ideas and thoughts with you. You need to discover your friends as they are special personalities too. It is true that you have to be lucky if you are to have good friends in your life. Friendship is a delicate yet a strong relationship which has to be sustained and unless not done it will fade into oblivion. Be it any relationship, you have to take some effort to maintain that bond of friendship. Don`t take a friend for granted as that is the biggest mistake you can do. Never let down your friends. Even though it may be difficult at times try to stay beside your friend always through thick and thin.

Friendship is not restricted to any age or any ideals. It is not always that you build this bond only with your classmates or colleagues. A father and son can also be friends and so can be a mother and daughter. This is more common in regards to mother and daughter. Brothers and sisters also share beautiful bonds of friendship. Even couples have relationship which is based on friendship. This is really an exclusive relationship which surpasses the meaning of `friendship` and goes beyond that into what we can term as an ideal relationship.

Friendship`s Day is a celebration which has come into vogue recently. It takes place on the first Sunday of the month of August each year. On this day people celebrate the special bond of friendship. This day reminds us of our friends and the special place they hold in our hearts and lives. People exchange gifts and flowers and cards to show their expression of love towards their friends.
Exchanging of wrist bands has now become more of a style statement. There are so many reasons why you should celebrate this day of the year. So surprise your friend/s and give them something special for which he/she will remember you for a long time. You can also call up an old and very dear friend with whom you have lost touch over time. This way it would be lovely to show that you still care about him/her even though you are physically apart.
