We are going to talk about the 'other woman' in your husband's life - your mother-in-law. A mother-in law can be a great guide, philosopher and above all, a dear friend. The relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law often reaches an impasse. A real tragedy, indeed. For, it divides the two women, who otherwise, would have a lot in common, and a lot to learn from each other. Both women have one pivot point - the son / husband. And, ideally, a loving relationship between the two...a dream sometimes.
Making it secure
Both the mother in-law and the daughter in-law suffer from bouts of fear - the fear of losing control, the fear of losing the man, etc. Their areas of conflict remain the same: husband, children and home for the daughter-in-law. And, son, grandchildren and the home for the mother-in-law! An invisible competition! Talking it out will help both the important women in your spouse's life.
The issue
Let's think of what a mother-in-law endures... She's given birth to a son. She's reared him, seen him through tough times, and watched him grow. Then, all of a sudden, she "loses" her son to a total stranger! The daughter-in-law also has her grievances. The main grievance - being neglected or relegated to the background. In some cases, the daughter-in law is not even consulted for anything. What can the daughter-in-law do?
Express politely
The daughter-in-law can endear herself to everybody in the family by being nice to them. She can help around the house. She sure can lighten the mother-in-law's burden on household chores. After all, this is her house and her future. She should positively work to bring about harmony in the house.
Better understanding
It's hard, but not impossible, to look at things in a different light. This imaginary "competition" can dissolve with a bit of understanding! After all, there is no denying the relationship. So why not reach an understanding that irons out these differences! Patience, understanding, and lots of love - a foolproof recipe to keep the man in your life happy!
