Simple Ways to Maintain A Born With Loved Ones

Time is at a premium these days. We are busy accomplishing things, reaching goals and attaining success.

With only that many hours in a day, we obviously need to compromise on a few things in life. And more often than not, it is the relationships in our lives that take a back seat. In our pursuit for material success, are we leaving behind something very precious?

Should we allow this to happen at all? Relationships are the essence of life. They are soulful experiences. Basically they're what life is all about.

Here are simple ways to maintain a bond with those who matter to us.

  • Work out together with your husband, daughter, son etc. This way you'll be killing two birds with one stone. Tone up your body and build better bonds.

  • Do you have problems keeping in touch with everyone in a very large family? Throw a bash and invite them all over. That way you get to meet the whole lot. Also ask them to reciprocate the gesture a couple of months down the road. Families getting together should be a tradition in all our lives.

  • Keep in touch over the email. It's a great way to share family news. You can have conference chats where many of you can exchange news and issues. And you feel united - a single unit.

  • This one is fun. Produce a family newsletter. It brings out the creative instincts too. Tell them all to send their news to the person in charge of the project. Add a few photos and paraphernalia if you like. It will make you proud to be a part of the family.

  • Encourage the kids to meet often. It doesn't really matter if they have different interests. Take turns in baby-sitting all them together.

  • Go on a family holiday. It could be a vacation, a pilgrimage or a visit to the native place. Make this an annual event.

Life is about sharing bonds. And it isn't all that difficult to do. It's just a question of making time.
