Many people especially the young generation has the misconception that arranged marriage is not good. Those are the types of marriage which is not made in heaven. Most of us believe in love, you have to love that person to marry him or her. Many youngsters have preconceived notions about arranged marriages. Out of which this one is pretty obvious, how can you marry someone whom you have just known for a day or month?

In previous years, the act of matrimony was based on the decision of elder people in the house. However, things have changed slightly than usual. Now the person who is looking out to get married can have his or her say in what kind of person is he or she is looking out for. In many houses now it is a mutual affair of meeting people, know them well and ultimately take a decision.

With changing trends in the world, even marriage has its new face, where an individual has the right to discuss about his preferences and compatibility and whether the partner would be secure with him or her. As no one wants to see their marriage going down.

Most of the westernised youth thinks that love is necessary to make a marriage work. However, most of the arranged marriages have also been successful. There is a minute difference between love marriage and arranged marriage. Which is how the partners meet each other? Some meet through common friends or they were classmates or college mates etc and in arranged marriages people meet through some relative or parents. Most of them it’s not a good decision to go by what parents decide. They think what they know about our choices?

However, this might not be right all the time. Now parents give their daughter or son to opt among flock of eligible people they have selected. There is no harm in meeting them. Isn’t it?
Of course, your parents have done the entire necessary enquiry about the families and their way of living. So you don’t even have to take care of that. Nothing can go wrong when parents are involved as they are more experienced than us, so they see certain things which make them decide the best for us.

In our country, marriage is taken as a very serious affair where it is an association of two families. In arranged marriage it becomes easier as your parents themselves have decided on the partner and the family. Now days, parents of both sides allow their daughter and son to know each other for a while and then finally come to a decision.  Arranged marriage is considered to be good as people get to know each other more, gain more conviction, value and finally fall for each other. People who have tied knots in an arranged manner are fearless and can discuss their problems with parents.

Indeed, arranged marriages have good advantage. It is secure, families are in agreement and partners are compatible. However, marriage is a mutual act where everyone’s answer should be yes.
