PoisoningChildhood poisoning is an area that requires a great deal of precaution. Many children are reported to experiment with drugs used by adults, leading to poisoning accidents. Cleaning agents, Petroleum derivatives, disinfectants, pesticides, contraceptives (any medicine for that matter) and the like should be kept away from the reach of the child.
InhalationInhalation and ingestion of dangerous objects is also a common problem. Children tend to inhale nuts, button batteries and balloons that haven`t been inflated. They can get passed out through the alimentary tract, but an occasional one can get stuck in the intestine and cause gastric erosions.
Electrocution1) All electrical points should be safely plugged, so that the child cannot receive a shock by insertion of a lead pencil or other objects through the point.
2) Beware of an electric fire in the bathroom.
3) Always unplug electric equipment when not in use.
4) Electric cables should be out of reach.
