  • See to it that a fire extinguisher is always readily available.
  • Never leave the child unattended in the house even for a few minutes.
  • Do not allow the child to play with fire or matches.
  • Use only fire resistant material for the childs clothing.
  • Do not have a mirror above any fire, which will tempt her to look at herself when she could be so close to danger.
  • Be careful with portable stoves. They could get knocked over.
  • Never allow younger children to play with fireworks. Always supervise an older child playing with fireworks.
  • Never try to re-light fireworks that don't seem to work.
  • Do not leave an electric iron where a child may come into contact with it; and never leave it plugged on.
