See to it that a fire extinguisher is always readily available. Never leave the child unattended in the house even for a few minutes. Do not allow the child to play with fire or matches. Use only fire resistant material for the childs clothing. Do not have a mirror above any fire, which will tempt her to look at herself when she could be so close to danger. Be careful with portable stoves. They could get knocked over. Never allow younger children to play with fireworks. Always supervise an older child playing with fireworks. Never try to re-light fireworks that don't seem to work. Do not leave an electric iron where a child may come into contact with it; and never leave it plugged on.
