One of the good habits of a human being is being in discipline. No one likes an undisciplined person, may it be any elder person or a child. Every person should be well disciplined. A child by birth does have that habit; in fact he does not know the difference between discipline and indiscipline. When a child is at home then it is the duty of the parents to instill this habit in him/her as he/she grows and when he/she is at school it becomes the duty of the faculty members.
It is very easy to instill discipline in an obedient child but if the child is mischievous and does not listen to anyone then what should be done? So if any person wants to instill discipline well in the most mischievous then he should follow certain rules that have been mentioned below:-
1)
Initiate with very few rules – If a person is going to put more rules on any mischievous then it will become a little bit tough for him to remember all at a time. So initiate with fewer rules so that he can learn step by step and properly.
2)
A parent should explain the reason why he is saying “NO” – Being a parent, it is their responsibility to keep their child safe and healthy. The parent should teach properly how he should behave with others. If the child is very stubborn and asks again and again for any wrong thing then the parent should say make him understand politely and calmly the reason behind his no. Like for example the child is asking for driving his small bike on road then the parent should explain him that why he is saying no and why it is not safe so that he does not ask for it again.
3)
Listen to the kid – The parent should not be that strict in instilling discipline well in mischievous that he/she does not listen to the child’s problem. The parent should give a fare chance to the kid to explain what the child thinks and feel. When a parent listen to the problems of the child then the child also respects his parents more and learn discipline with more interest.
4)
Set the limits clearly with polite words – A person should be very clear while placing his limits. But the words should not be harsh that the child is compelled to go against it. For example, if the child is going for some party at night then the parent should specify the time of being back at home instead of saying “come back soon.”
If any time the child breaks the discipline then the parent should punish him (not too strictly) so that he does not repeat the mistake again. Discipline is compulsory for all; it is not that it should be instilled well only in the most mischievous. Every person should be well disciplined. Discipline is a sign that shows that you know good manners.
